The Focus to...Crush Your Workout....and Crush Your Project!

A focused mind joins you to the rock like a fifth appendage. Therefore, being able to create—and maintain—a positive, focused, and energetic state is essential for performing your best at the gym or crag. Toward this end, a passionate climber must commit to the long-term development of a robust mental skill set. It's also important to learn what foods you can consume (and must avoid) to optimize energy levels and mood throughout the day. Finally, you should experiment with a pre-workout supplement like CRUSH™ (or a cup of coffee) to determine if it's helpful in elevating your energy level, focus, and performance. Many climbers find it is!

The benefits of using CRUSH as your pre-workout and pre-climbing supplement may include the following:

 

  • Increased energy and alertness without the jitters or anxiety common to many pre-workout or coffee-based drinks.
  • Improved focus, cognitive flexibility, and accuracy in task-switching.
  • Enhanced mental performance in stressful situations.
  • Increased peak power output and exercise time to exhaustion.

CRUSH is a novel ergogenic and nootropic supplement comprised of a synergistic blend of L-theanine and caffeine, augmented with L-tyrosine and L-taurine. Numerous studies have shown that L-theanine and caffeine can improve attention span, enhance the ability to process visual information, and increase accuracy when switching from one task to another. By boosting levels of GABA (a neurotransmitter), L-theanine modulates Alpha brain waves associated with a state of “wakeful relaxation", thus taking the "edge" (anxiety and jitters) off the stimulating effects of caffeine.

Additionally, the CRUSH formula includes a moderate dose of L-tyrosine, an amino acid shown to improve mental performance in stressful situations. Compared to placebo, tyrosine was found to improve cognitive flexibility and working memory during mentally demanding tasks, as well as help sleep-deprived individuals stay alert longer.

The final CRUSH ingredient is L-taurine, a conditional amino acid that helps combat the slight vasoconstriction that can result from consuming caffeine. Vasoconstriction, of course, can hinder muscle capillary blood flow—not ideal for a hard-training athlete!

In aggregate, the CRUSH formula makes for a highly effective and beneficial pre-workout and before-climb supplement for promoting mental and physical performance. All the ingredients are GRAS (generally recognized as safe) and WADA (World Anti-Doping Code) approved.
