Are You Getting The Most Out Of Your Training?

As a coach of more than 35 years, it's in my DNA to share training tips and a positive mindset with people I meet at the gym, crags, or elsewhere...including visitors to this website!

My journey as a coach is documented widely from my first published training article in Rock & Ice magazine (July 1987) to the just-released Korean translation of my best-selling book, Training For Climbing.

In early 2019, I founded PhysiVantage Nutrition based on the concept that training activities and nutritional practices are opposite sides of the same coin!

Many climbers I've worked with eventually come to train with great intensity and relatively high effectiveness; however, they often fail to get the most out of their training -- and tempt injury -- by failing to consume the nutrients needed for optimal recovery. 

As listed in the graphic above, nailing your nutrition game must begin with a thoughtful diet of whole foods, while avoiding refined foods, added sugars, seed oils, and alcohol.

For many climbers (myself included) it's virtually impossible to consume enough protein (my target is 120 - 165 grams/day) via whole foods and quality snacks. The solution is supplemental protein powder...which is why three of the first five PhysiVantage products I developed were protein supplements.
